Power Moves: The Ministry of the Holy Spirit

Romans 8:1-11

Review:
Why does the empty tomb have any significance in my life? What difference does it make for me as a contemporary believer in Jesus Christ?

The ultimate battleground between faith and unbelief is in our minds.

You have to understand that living these lives are holiness is foreign to all of us. The enemy plays tricks with our minds because it’s easy and we walk around in vessels that have been corrupted by sin.

It’s a comforting notion that God will forgive me when I fall. He will absolve me because he knows I’m going to do it. Our God is a loving and forgiving God. If we continue to live as if we just need to keep going back to the cross of calvary – again and again – we are living beneath the power God intends us to live in.

1. Acknowledge that the impossible is possible with God.
1. We cannot live the life God wants us to live without Him.
2. Example: We will get to the point where someone will work our last nerve.
3. God is still working on me. Are you allowing God to work on you, like He wants to work on you.
4. We default to a position that does not acknowledge the impossible is possible with God.
5. Get out of sin free card – 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
2. Faith is a never-ending, ever-developing part of a believer’s life.
1. I shouldn’t have the same issues year after year.
2. Doesn’t mean you won’t think about it. Just because you didn’t snap didn’t mean you were thinking about it.
3. Today, I have determined to love God more than allowing me to satisfy my flesh by putting someone in their place.
3. Seek God’s help to believe.
1. I believe but help my unbelief. I want to live this life but every now and then I wrestle with my flesh.
2. Mark 9:14-29 – Jesus heals a boy possessed by an impure spirit
