Imagine: Harvest Christian Fellowship as a Local Church
Read Matthew 9:35-38
Christ invites us to know him personally and intimately.
Imagine a church that incarnates the life of Jesus Christ in ways that are relevant to their culture … Imagine a congregation that does not speak of GOING to church, but striving TO BE the church to each other, and their world as they embody Christ.
Incarnate and embody Christ: Live out, publicly, what it means to be a Christian; Be the walking, talking, living, breathing representatives of Christ in the world; Church is a living entity, it is not a place you go, it is what we are.
Striving to be the church: We are to be the representatives of Christ in our context (ex. Home, work, school). He changes us in order to send us. Very rarely does out context change like where we live, work, our family. He sends us back to where we are to be his representatives of Christ in the world, in our context.
We are not the end, we are the means to His end. Therefore, he calls us to go back out, in our contexts, to share and move and BE the living and breathing representatives of Him.
He calls us to change us, He changes us to send us, He sends us to go back to where we came.
