Finding the Sweet Spot

Finding the Sweet Spot

Last Week Recap

To discover our personal calling, we need the Spirit of God to lead us.

  1. We receive clarity on our calling from the Holy Spirit.
  2. We need to watch and listen to the Holy Spirit.
  3. Obedience to His prompting is our only responsibility.

Last Week’s Call to Action

Commit to wait patiently before leaping into action.

Opening Statement

God has a destiny for each of us. A plan perfectly fit for us as His masterpieces. A vital work of God in every believer’s life is helping us discern and live in our sweet spot.

Isaiah 64:8
Psalm 139:13-18
Ephesians 2:10
Ephesians 1:22-23

Point 1

What is the sweet spot?

The sweet spot is the alignment of our unique design (Be), purpose (Do), and position (Go).

Design – Who am I created to be?
Generally, I am created in the image of God to be a disciple.
Personally, I need to ask myself, “what distinguishes me from all others?”

Purpose – What am I created to do?
Generally, I am created to make disciples.
Personally, I need to ask myself, “what can I do that will produce unique good works for God.”

Position – Where am I created to go?
Generally, it’s where I am.
Personally, I need to ask myself, “what is the context where I can be most effective?”

Point 2

There is joy and harmony in the sweet spot.

There is the least amount of friction in the sweet spot because all of the parts are working in harmony with each other.

Point 3

The sweet spot is an input multiplier. By multiplying input, the sweet spot produces greater output.

Fruitfulness is the result of operating in the sweet spot.

Call to Action

Take some time this week to ponder on the following questions:

  1. What makes me unique, unlike anyone else?
  2. What can I do that is both unique and glorifies God (good works)?
  3. Where is the place where I (using my unique design and purpose) can be most effective?
