Youth Sunday
Youth Sunday came back to Harvest in a major way this past Sunday! The Children and J Walkers ministries took over just about every aspect of the service. We were all delighted by the junior ladies of Beyond the Veil as they ministered through dance.
Bro. Chris Hamilton, Director of Children’s Ministries, preached an innovative and compelling message using the interactive theme “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader.” Complete with contestants and a panel of smart “5th graders”, Chris highlighted the following important points for parents and young people:
1. Parents, Make Your Relationship with God a Priority
2. Parents, Understand That Your Children Are Watching You
3. Children, Trust Your Parents To Raise You
4. Parents, You Have To Put In Work To Make Every Second Count
5. God Is With You, So You Don’t Have To Do It Alone

Baptism
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20
Baptism is a command of our Lord Jesus Christ. When we confess Christ as Savior, He calls us to be baptized as a public expression of our faith in Him. It is always an exciting time in the life of our local church. Today we celebrated the baptism of Sis. Serena Harris and Sis. Sanaa Hardy! Let us all rejoice with them on a day they will never forget.
Our Summer Giving Program goal: is $51,340. This will allow us to operate at optimum level during June 1 through August 31. Through Week 4, June 22, we needed to have received $14,668 to be on track. Our actual giving through Week 3 is $17,324. To God Be The Glory!
Educational Enrichment Ministries
The countdown is on and we need you to make this event a success. The Joy Night event is in 2 weeks! The Educational Enrichment Ministries are sponsoring Joy Night, a night of fun, fellowship, and unique praise, on July 11th at 7:00pm! The proceeds will benefit the Harvest Scholarship Fund. Grab some fliers this Sunday and pass them around. Get more details on the website or in The City.
Celebrate Recovery Flapjack Fundraiser
The Celebrate Recovery ministry here at Harvest is quickly gearing up for their launch this fall. They will be holding their first fundraiser on Saturday, July 19th at Applebee’s Restaurant located at 105 Wilton Blvd., New Castle, DE 19702. The tickets are just $10 and the proceeds will go to support the Celebrate Recovery ministry. See a member of the Celebrate Recovery team at the Welcome Center after worship this Sunday for tickets.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is coming! Mark your calendars for July 28th through August 1st. This year’s theme is Weird Animals. At Weird Animals, kids will learn about some of God’s most creative creations! They’ll participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and dig into yummy treats, experience cool Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them they are one of a kind, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes with The Tail End—a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Weird Animals VBS is for kids from ages 3 to 12 and will run from 6:30PM to 8:30PM each day.
L.A.C.E. Women’s Ministry
The Women’s ministry of Harvest Christian Fellowship, Ladies After Christ’s Example (LACE), is gearing up for Discipleship Classes.
If you recently joined Harvest, or have not participated in discipleship classes in the past, we have the right setting for you. Victorious Disciples is the group for you. Topics that are covered include Knowing who You Are in Christ; How to Study the Bible; The Journey of Faith; Becoming a Woman of Prayer; just to name a few.
If you have participated in discipleship classes in the past, please join in the group called Becoming a Woman of Influence. This group will cover such topics as Impacting Lives Like Jesus; The Principle of Time Alone with God; and The Principle of Walking and Talking; The Principle of Compassion; just to name a few.
