Receive. Believe. Become.

Receive. Believe. Become.

Luke 1:16-20

What’s about to come through you will be so powerful that it will change the entire world. He will be the precursor.

John 1:6-13
Through John’s story we get to know who we are in Christ.

1. Receive. We have to receive Him.
v 12: but to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Love, grace and forgiveness of God.

We get access to them by receiving (accepting) Jesus.

2. Believe. We have to believe in his name.
v 12: but to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Believe in its power to change lives of men.

Believe in the name of Jesus is the heart portion of our journey as disciples.

So we believe we are changed by him.

3. Become.

Why did Jesus come? So that we could, through Him, become the children of God.

To repair
To restore

I believe that God can change me.

Every now and then I am empty and need someone to speak into me. That’s why it’s important to be connected to Godly people.

Why do we go?
So that we, committed to the cause of Christ, can show others the way to become God’s children.

The only way God is glorified is not by the number of butts in the seat but by the impact of those in those seats to go out and change the world.
